The relationship between the church and the school is one that we treasure.

  1. We all have hopes and dreams for the future, it is human to look forward and wonder what the years ahead might hold. At St Peter's we are committed to helping children prepare for that future, whatever it might bring. Children were very important to Jesus, he saw in them something very special. We seek to take children seriously by giving them the opportunity to have fun together and to enjoy teaching appropriate for their age.
  2. We are committed to welcoming children and their families to learn and worship together with other members of our community.

School Governors

In the United Kingdom, school governors play a crucial role in the governance and strategic development of schools. Governors are volunteers who serve on the governing body of a school, providing oversight, support, and challenge to the school's leadership. The primary responsibility of school governors is to ensure that the school is effectively managed, delivering high-quality education and meeting the needs of its students. Governors work collaboratively with the headteacher and senior leadership team, offering guidance on educational and financial matters, and contributing to the development of policies and plans that align with the school's objectives.

Furthermore, school governors act as a link between the school and the local community, representing the interests of parents, staff, and the wider community. They engage in the monitoring and evaluation of the school's performance, holding the leadership accountable for outcomes and ensuring that resources are used efficiently. Governors also participate in decision-making processes related to staffing, budgeting, and the overall direction of the school. Their diverse skills and experiences contribute to the well-rounded governance of the institution, fostering an environment conducive to learning and the holistic development of students. Overall, the role of a school governor in the UK is instrumental in maintaining the quality and effectiveness of the education system.
